The School of Advanced Sciences (SAS) comprises of 4 major headings i.e. Nano Technology which offers programmes such as Masters of Technology in Nano Technology, Mathematics which offers programmes such as B.Sc (Mathematics) and M.Sc. (Mathematics), Chemistry which offers programmes such as B.Sc (Chemistry) and M.Sc. (Chemistry) and the last major heading is Physics which offers the programme of B.sc (Physics) and M.Sc (Physics) . These domains offers great academic curriculum and also the great career opportunities.
These major headings proved to be the centre of excellence through their high quality education curriculum and they opens the pathway for the bright career of the students.
Welcome to graduate studies in the Department of Chemistry. Chemistry deals with the nature of all substances and the changes that arise therein. The study of chemistry can afford knowledge that will provide students a greater understanding and appreciation of the globe in which they live. Further, awareness of chemistry is an immense asset in areas such as engineering, biology, and health-related fields.
Degree programmes offered by the Department emphasize discovery, learning through hands-on laboratory and research driven problem solving. Intend of the graduate programme in chemistry is to afford a milieu for graduands to widen the skills to become cream of the crop in scientific research and education, proficient of making original assistance to the advancement of chemistry and related disciplines.

The Department of Physics, Kalasalingam University was started in 1984 through the pioneering vision of “Kalvi Vallal” Thriu T. Kalasalingam, it has grown into a Department of Research, with excellent active research in all front line areas of research. Presently the Department is offering Ph.D., M.Phil Physics., Post Graduate (M.Sc. Physics)., Under Graduate (B.Sc. Physics) courses. The Department of Physics has been involved in teaching to promote science and technology to the B.Tech and M.Sc. students.
The Faculty members of the Department has strong research capability in various fields of like Crystallography, Spectroscopy, Thin films, Theoretical Physics, Non-Linear Optics, Polymer Science, Ionics, etc. The Department has equipped laboratories through which creative ideas are implanted in the minds of the students.
The Department is confronted by the mission of creating new technologies and procedures for the invention of various new materials useful in the field of medicine, batteries, opto-electronics, fuel cells, etc. through the cutting edge of research and education.
1) Emphasis will be more on applying the engineering concepts with the hands-on experience.
2) Students will gain an ability to utilize the gained knowledge of Physics and engineering sciences to real time problems involving thermal, design, manufacturing and materials domain.
3) Students will gain an ability to specify, fabricate, test, operate, validate and complete documentation of any basic mechanical systems or processes.
4) Students will gain an ability to apply the acquired software’s skills to design and analysis of advanced mechanical systems or processes.

Forensic science is primarily concerned with the application of scientific principles for the investigation of crime. Using the very latest in technology, forensic scientists convert the clues collected from a crime scene into evidence admissible in a court of law. It is the use or application of science in courts or legal proceedings. This is a challenging and interesting field for those who have are inquisitive and loves adventure. Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education offers B.Sc. in Forensic Science. The course has been designed around the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. A student in the Bachelor’s degree is trained in all disciplines of Forensic Science and Law, and is also imparted knowledge in basic science disciplines of Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Computer Science. Students of this course are given hands-on access to top-of-the-line analytical instruments like various Spectrometers (UV-Visible), Research Microscopes, Chromatographic and Electrophoretic Systems, PCR, etc. A student of B.Sc. gets trained in the disciplines of Digital Forensic Investigations, Cyber and Network Security, Cyber Laws, Biometrics, Signal and Multimedia Evidence Processing, Image Processing and most uniquely in Incident Response Management. This course is unique and offers curriculum especially designed to keep in mind the desired industrial requirements. Courses are taught with focus on hands-on practical exercises done in an abundant dedicated laboratory with state of the art equipment.
