Established in the year 1984, Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education has been proudly offering BA- English programme from 2013. From the academic year 2021, the university offers B. A. (Hons). The programme is quite unique and absolutely satiates the curricular needs of the students. The courses include Social History of England, British Literature, Indian writing in English, History of English Literature, Indian Literature in English Translation, Introduction to English Language Teaching and Learning, Background to Literary Criticism, Introduction to Language and Linguistics, Women’s Writing in English, Applications of English Grammar, Basics of Journalism, etc. Apart from the curricular needs, the students are trained to write and articulate well so that they can find work in sectors such as print media, electronic media, and call centres.

The English Department has a well-established Language lab. The Language Lab is completely computerised and has plenty of comfortable seating for students to sit and work. 70 student booths and one teacher console are available. Students may also use their individual listening aid to listen to fascinating talks, dialogues, and stories.
Every student is being offered a decent package and gives an advantage in the final placements where one can expect anything above 3.5 to 4 lacs package. Companies take part in the recruitment drive conducted by the University and hire students on a yearly basis.
