Overview

Kalasalingam believes sports activities (both indoor and outdoor) are essential in keeping the health and mind healthy and stay strong. Our institute give special emphasis for sports students by giving scholarship and by training them continuously
to bring more laurels to our institute and to the student as a individual, as a success of this process many students are placed in government job.

MARK ANDREW SPITZ SWIMMING POOL

    Construction of Mark Andrew Spitz Swimming Pool at Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education in the International standard was the big dream of our Founder Chairman “Kalvivallal” Thiru T. Kalasalingam and the dream of our Founder Chairman is now fulfilled by constructing the Swimming Pool which is built under the magnificent and mighty hills of Western Ghat.
    The Swimming Pool is constructed with the technical advice from Mr. V. VALVEEMARAJA, Formerly Manager, Stadium Officer, Aquatic Complex Velacherry, Chennai.


KARE Swimming Men and Women team players were participated in the 4th State Finswimming Championship – 2024 event held at Virudhunagar on 22.06.2024. They won the following medals: Gold – 10 Nos., Silver– 6 Nos., Bronze – 3 Nos. Total 19 Medals.

3’s State Level Volleyball Tournament-04.02.2024

Our KARE Volleyball team players participated in the 3’S State Level Volleyball Tournament held at Nanguneri and won First Place with Cash award Rs.15,000. Organized by Kompaiya Bose Volleyball Association, Tirunelveli District on 04th February 2024.

State Level Volleyball Tournament for School boys and girls (11-01-2024)

The Department of Physical Education, KARE organized a State Level Volleyball Tournament titled, “Kalasalingam Memorial Trophy-2024” for the School Boys and girls at the University Sports Arena on 11-01-2024. Twelve teams from different districts participated and played with enthusiasm. Rajapalayam Nadar Higher Secondary School won the first prize and championship in the boys category. Govt Higher Secondary School, Hosur won the first prize and championship in the girls category. Mr. S. Chithambaram, Physical Director made all arrangements. Dr. A. Samson Nesaraj, Director (Student Affairs) distributed the certificates, medals and prizes.

    Life Guards

  • Life Guards, who are well versed in swimming and are having swimming certificates were appointed. They are keeping close eye on the swimmers and the pool to ensure the safety of the swimmers.
  • They are well versed in basic medical training and are qualified for Emergency Medical Rescue Training from Rashtriya Life Saving Society of India.
    Upkeep and Maintenance of Swimming Pool

  • Swimming Pool is always maintained with Clean and hygienic surrounding, following the words of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of our Nation.
  • They are well versed in basic medical training and are qualified for Emergency Medical Rescue Training from Rashtriya Life Saving Society of India.
  • The water is tested every day for pH level and chlorine level present as per the safety standards.
  • Every Monday, the swimming pool is closed and all the cleaning works are taken place.
  • Flood lights are installed for lighting purpose at night times.

    Infrastructure available in the Swimming Pool:

  • First Aid Medical Room.
  • Filtration Plant
  • Separate Rest Room and Shower Room for Men and Women.
  • Conference Hall.
  • Chlorination.
  • Viewing point for Visitors and Guests at the First Floor of the Building.
  • Medical Room for Emergency purpose which is having basic medical equipment and special equipment like Oxygen Tank.


    Swimmers Achievements

Swimming Pool Infrastructure


No one will be allowed in the swimming area unless the pool is officially open and a life guard is on duty.

  1. The right of admission is reserved.
  2. Not liable for any claims what so ever, for every, for any kind of accident, injury and loss of life by users.
  3. Right of termination of membership for misconduct default or any other reason is reserved.
  4. Members should wear proper not transparent swimming costumes and caps.
  5. Trainers from outside will not be permitted for giving training to swim.
  6. Membership is strictly non transferable.
  7. Member should bring membership card daily.
  8. The members are requested to register their names before using the pool.
  9. Loss of membership card should be reported immediately.
  10. Diving in pool is not permitted.
  11. Persons with skin diseases and heart attack will be permitted only after getting medical certificate from the medical officer.
  12. Stuffs are not permitted in the premises.
  13. Cell phones, costly ornaments, camera and cash will not be permitted if the loss occurs the University is not responsible for the loss.
  14. Smoking/drinking is strictly prohibited.
  15. Members should have a shower and foot bath before entering into the pool.
  16. Horse play not allowed in the pool
  17. Swimming pool should be used in hygienic manner.

National Sports Day

Department of Physical Education has conducted the National Sports Day celebrations on
August, 29, 2023 in the Indoor Auditorium at the University campus. The programme started
with the State Anthem of Tamil Nadu. The Physical Director Dr. S. Vijayalakshmi shared the
welcome address. The Director of Student Affairs Dr. A. Samson Nesaraj spoke about the
importance of celebrating National Sports Day. Further, he encouraged the students to actively
participate in the sports activities and bring laurels to the University. Students who learnt boxing
exhibited their boxing skills. The sports students of Kabaddi, Silambam, Weight Lifting and
Hand Ball showcased their talents through adventurous programmes. Dr. C. Sangeetha, Assistant
Professor, Department of English shared the vote of thanks. The programme ended with the
National Anthem.


1 st State Level Kalasalingam Memorial Trophy Kabaddi Invitation Tournament for Men – 2023 (30-09-2023)

Department of Physical Education, Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education (KARE) conducted the ‘1st State level Kalasalingam Memorial Trophy Kabaddi Invitation Tournament for Men’ on 30th September 2023 in the Indoor Stadium of KARE campus. Totally, 10 Colleges were participated from various Districts of Tamil Nadu. The Physical Director Dr. S. Vijayalakshmi welcomed the gathering and inaugurated the tournament. Then, the events were conducted based on knockout cum league format. KARE Kabaddi A and B teams won the First and Second Place. Third place was won by Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of Engineering – Coimbatore and Fourth place was won by Sree Balakrishna College of Arts and Science – Rajapalayam. The Director (Student Affairs) Dr. A. Samson Nesaraj briefed about the importance of sports and health fitness and distributed the Trophies, Certificates and Medals to the winning teams.
