VISION

The aim of this course is to train the students in all aspects about the functioning of
Medical Records Department, updating their knowledge and skills especially in the Medical
Coding (Diagnosis & Procedure – based on the World Health Organization Standards), Statistics,
Computer Application in Health Information Management and its recent advances.

MISSION

The Department aims at ensuring a complete, accurate and adequate data recording in
medical record through a standing Medical Record Committee.

In order to assure the quality of medical records a system of audit is also contemplated.

Turn out best talents to tackle the medical recording techniques by concentrating in the training fields through existing educational programmes and other in- house continuing
training programmes.

Overview

During this course, students learn how to maintain & manage information & records in a
healthcare environment .In addition, medical record technician possess the computer skills,
medical billing techniques & knowledge pertaining to medical terminology.

Why Medical Record Science?

Medical Record Science will maintain patient records, organize them, and keep them up
to date. Students will have access to a wide range of job opportunities in healthcare, including
those in health care administration, medical research, and patient safety. This degree program
also enables you to be part of a growing profession. Students will gain hands-on experience in
medical office software, billing, insurance coding, and other computer-related topics. They will
also learn how to use old-fashioned filing and record retrieval techniques. Upon graduation,
students will be qualified to work in medical offices. In addition, the B.Sc. in MRT will allow
them to obtain the necessary credentials to work in hospitals and medical facilities.

Eligibility

At the time of admission, a candidate should have successfully passed the examination
conducted by a Board/University at the +2 level of schooling with Pass mark(50% in
Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Diploma in their relevant field (either through formal
schooling for 12 years, or through open school system) or its equivalent.
