Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education (KARE) has taken a significant step in supporting economic development, human well-being, and equitable access to resources for the local community. By providing affordable access to local farmers, KARE enabled their active participation in the District-level Mango Festival conducted by the Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Department in Virudhunagar district.

The program was inaugurated by Dr. V.B. Jeyaseelan, Collector of Virudhunagar district, and witnessed participation from 100 farmers and 50 students from various places. This event also saw active participation from agricultural and horticultural scientists, as well as agricultural officers from various areas. Conducted like this event KARE’s efforts align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure and Goal 15: Life on Land. By promoting sustainable agriculture practices and supporting local farmers, KARE contributes to the conservation of natural resources, biodiversity, and ecosystem services. This initiative demonstrates KARE’s commitment to community development and its role as a responsible corporate citizen. By fostering collaboration between farmers, scientists, and policymakers, KARE helps create a more sustainable and equitable food system.
