Yuva Tourism Club

The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India launched Yuva Tourism Club in the year 2023, as a part of 75th Indian Independence Day. Tourism clubs are an important aspect for promoting responsible and sustainable tourism in the country. The initiative focuses on developing the right culture among the youth of the country through formulating a club at our institution. The major objective of the mission are:

  • To educate youth about diverse cultures and geographies of the country
  • To appreciate the importance of travel and tourism in education
  • To create awareness about tourism opportunities at an early stage
  • To teach and propagate responsible tourism practises
  • To train students as skilled tourist guides and volunteers in hospitality sector
  • To facilitate better coordination for study tours and student exchange programmes
  • Inclusion of travel and tourism in the curriculum.
  • Organise sustainable and responsible tours in line with the SDG agenda: Minimum impact to natural areas that conserves environment, travellers get a chance to interact with local people and to understand their culture and tradition.
  • Travel to locations in off-peak periods which would help boost the local tourism economy.
  • Various tournaments can be combined with tourism wherein Students can engage in tourism activities at locations.
  • Discovery of a lesser-known destination with information on possible travel itineraries, nearby destinations, tourism potential, etc.
  • Feedback on social media platforms thereby marketing the Indian destinationsh

International Year of Millets Competition

Yuva Tourism Club organized the millet cooking competitions to commemorate the International Year of Millets during 13 th to 15 th September, 2023. The final event was held on 16 th September, 2023 under the title ‘Trek Champ’. The programme created an awareness and innovation in millet-based cuisine among the students. It was a successful event that not only showcased the talents of catering students but also emphasized the importance of sustainable and nutritious food choices in today's world. The programme was co-ordinated by Mr. S. Senthilkumar , Assistant Professor, CS & HM, Mr. P. Rajkumar , Assistant Profesor, IT, Dr. K. Muthulakshmi, Assistant Professor, Agriculture and Ms. Loyala

Trip to Munnar, 24-02-2024

The one-day trip to Munnar organized by the Yuva Tourism Club on 24, February 2024 was a resounding success, offering students a memorable blend of natural beauty, cultural immersion, and camaraderie. Through visits to botanical and cactus gardens, the elephant arrival spot, and Kundala Dam, participants gained a deeper appreciation for the wonders of nature. The campfire served as a fitting conclusion to a day filled with exploration and adventure, leaving participants with cherished memories to last a lifetime. This event not only enriched the educational experience of students but also exemplified the club’s commitment to promoting responsible tourism and fostering a sense of community among its members.


National Tourism Day

The Yuva Tourism Club, KARE organized a National Tourism Day program at Government Higher Secondary School, Pappayanaickerpatti, on January 12, 2024. Events like, essay writing and drawing competition were conducted to raise awareness about tourism among the students. Participants exhibited impressive understanding and creativity. Winners received certificates and prizes, contributing to fostering a sense of curiosity and appreciation for diverse cultures. The event successfully achieved its goal of promoting responsible tourism and left a lasting impact on participants and organizers alike.


Trek Champ 2K24

YUVA Tourism Club has organized an event under the title – Trek Champ 2K24 on 3 rd August,
2024 Saturday at Library Seminar Hall. Inauguration function started at 11.00am with the lighting of the lamp. The event was organized with competitions namely Hidden Wonders and Quiz. Ms.K.Mallika, Club Vice President welcomed the gathering. Mr.T.R.Vignesh, Program Coordinator of the club explained the events conducted on the previous academic year. The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest – Dr.A.Samson Nesaraj, Director – Student Affairs, KARE. In his presidential address, he stated that many other events scheduled for the upcoming year will provide the pathway for the students to explore the tourism in diversified manner. Ms.Shree Kasthuri, club coordinator proposed the vote of thanks. A total of 250 students
participated at the event.


TOUR TO KARNATAKA – COORG & CHIKKAMAGALURU BY YUVA TOURISM CLUB (14 th to 16th September, 2024)

The Yuva tourism club organized a tour to Karnataka state covering the places – Coorg &
Chikkamagaluru from 14.09.2024 to 16.09.2024. A total of 94 students along with 04 faculty
members participated in the tour in 02 buses.

The objective of this tour was to provide students with an opportunity to explore the natural
beauty and cultural heritage of Coorg and Chikkamagaluru and to promote eco-tourism among
the students of the University. The tourism club tour to Coorg and Chikkamagaluru was
organized to provide students with a blend of educational experiences and exposure to the natural
beauty of Karnataka. This tour aimed to foster teamwork, enhance learning outside the
classroom, and deepen students' understanding of regional culture and ecology. The tour
provided an enriching experience, combining education, culture, and nature. Students explored
new locations and got unforgettable memories.

Places Visited: Mullayanagiri, Sithalayanagiri, Shooting Point, BB Hills, Z Point, Abbey falls,
Raja Seat, Tibetian Golden Temple, Dubare Forest & Elephant camp.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (19th October, 2024)

Yuva Tourism Club and NSS jointly organized a campaign on 19.10.2024 at
‘Thaanipaarai’ to promote cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation across the country, a special
initiative under the theme “Keep our monuments and Tourist places clean”. This programme
was co-ordinated by Mr. T. Raj Pradeesh, NSS Co-ordinator and Mr. R. G. Vignesh, Co-
ordinator, Yuva Tourism Club.


Workshop on Strategies for Responsible Travelling by YUVA Tourism Club on 21.12.2024

The Yuva Tourism Club of Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education, organized a
one-day workshop titled "Strategies for Responsible Travelling" on 21 st December 2024.
The event brought together enthusiastic participants and seasoned riders to share knowledge,
experiences, and practical demonstrations, with the aim of promoting sustainable and mindful
travel practices.

Experienced riders showcased their travel gear and bikes, offering participants hands-on
insights into responsible travel while emphasizing safety and environmental awareness. The
interactive sessions encouraged participants to engage with the riders, ask questions, and
learn practical tips for adopting eco-friendly approaches during their journeys.

The workshop served as a valuable platform for exchanging ideas, inspiring action, and
fostering a community dedicated to sustainable travel.


Mountain Retreat (Yuva Tourism Club Event) (8th and 9th, February, 2025)

The Yuva Tourism Club of Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education (KARE)
organized ‘Mountain Retreat’, a rejuvenating journey to Ooty & Masinagudi, Nilgiris
District, on 8 th & 9 th February 2025. The tour covered several scenic and cultural attractions,
including the Tea Factory, Chocolate Factory, Wax Museum, Pine Forest, Pykara Falls and
Lake (Boating), Doddabetta Peak, Karnataka Horticulture Garden, and a Shooting Spot. A
total of 50 students participated in this enriching experience, accompanied by
Mr. T.R. Vignesh (Club Coordinator), Mr. P. Rajkumar (Programme Officer), and Mrs.
Lekshmi Mohan (Programme Officer).

This event contributed to SDG 15 (Life on Land) by educating students on biodiversity
conservation and the use of technology to protect forests and wildlife. It also aligned with
SDG 3 (Good Health & Well-being) by promoting healthy lifestyle practices that enhance
physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Through this immersive experience, students
gained a deeper appreciation for nature and sustainable living.


Tree plantation by Yuva Tourism Club on 01-03-2025

The Ministry of Tourism, in association with the Ministry of Forests, Government of
India, initiated a tree plantation drive on the occasion of World Environment Day 2025
under the "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" (A Tree in the Name of Mother) campaign launched by
Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi in September 2024. As part of this initiative, the
YUVA Tourism Club successfully organized a tree plantation drive on March 1, 2025, at
Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education, Krishnankoil. The event
commenced with the planting of the first sapling by Dr. A. Samson Nesaraj, Director –
Student Affairs, marking the official start of the initiative. A total of 75 student volunteers
actively participated, planting 75 tree saplings within the university campus to promote
environmental sustainability. Dedicated to honoring mothers, the campaign symbolized their
nurturing nature, with students and faculty members enthusiastically ensuring proper spacing
and watering of the saplings. This initiative aimed to enhance the greenery on campus while
raising awareness about the importance of afforestation.
