NSS was formed to establish the strong link between the institute and community, NSS was established at Kalasalingam in the year 1987.
National Service Scheme Unit of KARE has conducted a blood donation camp in
Kalasalingam Medical College and Hospital in collaboration with Meenakshi Mission
Hospital, Madurai. 200 students donated the blood.
National Service Scheme Unit of KARE has organized a programme on ‘Agriculture waste
and fertilizers management’ for the farmers of Kansapuram Village on 05-08-2023. 60
students participated.
National Service Scheme (NSS) wing of Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education organized a special camp for seven days during 28th November 2023 to 04th December 2023 in the following village regions (near to the University).
About 500 students participated in the camp.
National Road Safety Week in India is observed from 11 to 17 January. The week is dedicated to promote road safety measures to prevent road accidents.
To commemorate the National Road Safety Week, NSS Unit of KARE has organized an awareness programme on ‘Road Safety’ in co-ordination with the Police Department on 11-01-2024 in the Administrative Block Seminar Hall. The Police officials trained the students about the significance of following road safety practices like wearing seat belts, avoiding rage driving, wearing helmets, abstaining from drunk driving, etc. Many students attended this programme. Mr. Muthukumar – Inspector of Police, Krishnankoil circle distributed the participation certificates to the participants. Dr. A. Samson Nesaraj, Director (Student Affairs), Mr. S. J. Kabilan, Assistant Director (Student Affairs) and Mr. T. Rajpradeesh, NSS Co-orinator have made all the arrangements.
National Service Scheme, KARE organized an Awareness programme on Bonded Labour on 13.02.2024 in the Central Library Conference Hall. The Director of Student Affairs, Dr. A. Samson Nesaraj gave the welcome address. Mrs. C. Mivizhi Selvi, Assistant Commissioner of Labour (Enforcement), Virudhunagar, Mrs. D. Vasantha, Deputy Inspector of Labour, Rajapalayam and Mrs. V.S.Durga, Assistant Inspector of Laour, Srivilliputhur were participated in the programme. Special lectures on Abolition of Bonded Labour, Eradication of Child Labour and Legal Meteorology Act, 2009 were delivered by Mrs. C. Mivizhi Selvi, Assistant Commissioner of Labour (Enforcement) during the programme. At the end, a pledge regarding the abolition of bonded labour was taken up by all the participants. Mrs. R. G. Bharathi, HOD, Kalasalingam School of Law and Mr. T. Rajpradeesh, NSS Co-ordinator have made all the arrangements. 150 students attended the programme.
NSS Unit of Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education (Deemed to be University) has organized special yoga sessions to commemorate the International Yoga Day at Dr. K.S. Krishnan Auditorium on 21st June, 2024. Dr. A. Samson Nesaraj, Director (Students) delivered the welcome address. Honourable Chancellor Dr. K. Sridharan delivered the presidential address. In his speech, he mentioned that the students should develop the habit of practising yoga in their day-to-day life to overcome illness and to live long. Ms. G. Jayanthi, HOD (i/c), Yoga Department has conducted the yoga training sessions relevant to standing posture, sitting posture, sleeping posture, meditation and relaxation to the students and staff members of KARE. Mr. S. Suresh Kumar, NSS Programme Officer shared the vote of thanks. The overall arrangements were made by Mr. T. Rajpradeesh, NSS Programme Co-ordinator and Mr. V. Dinesh Kumar, NSS Programme Officer.
NSS Unit of Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education (Deemed to be University) has organized an ‘Anti-narcotics awareness programme’ in co-ordination with NB-CID, Government of Tamil Nadu on 03 rd August, 2024 at Dr. K.S. Krishnan Auditorium. Dr. A. Samson Nesaraj, Director (Student Affairs) shared the welcome address. Mr. V. Ezhil Suresh Singh, Inspector of Police, NB-CID spoke about the ill effects of narcotics in the programme. Mr. Pandiyaraj, Sub Inspector of Police shared the vote of thanks. About 250 students participated in this programme. Mr. T. Rajpradeesh, NSS Programme Co-ordinator has made all the arrangements.
NSS Unit of Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education (Deemed to be University) has organized Tiranga Marathon to commemorate the 78th Independence Day of our nation. This event was scheduled to respect the values and honour the national flag. Dr. J.T. Winowlin Jappes, Controller of Examination and Dr. A. Samson Nesaraj, Director (Student Affairs) inaugurated the event. Nearly 100 students and faculty members actively participated in the event. All of them received participation certificates from Dr. K. Sridharan, Honourable Chancellor during the flag hoisting ceremony. Mr. T. Rajpradeesh, NSS co-ordinator, Mr. V. Dinesh Kumar, NSS Programme Officer and Mrs. P. Priya, NSS Programme Officer have made all the arrangements.
NSS KARE unit has organized an extension outreach event at the Shenbagathoppu Forest region. A total of 100 volunteers from the Departments of Bio-Technology and Mechanical Engineering actively have participated in the following social outreach activities:

NSS Unit of KARE has co-ordinated a mega tree plantation under CSR Go-Green activity in association with HDFC Bank, Rajapalayam at KARE farm, University campus on 14-08-2024. Our honourable Chancellor Dr. K. Sridharan and Registrar Dr. V. Vasudevan have inaugurated this activity. Different varieties of 1000 plants were planted during the event. 100 NSS volunteers actively involved in the event. Mr. T. Rajpradeesh, NSS Programme Co-ordinator, Mr. S. R. Ram Harish, Deputy Administrative Officer and Mr. R. Jeyakumar, Estate Officer have made all the arrangements.
NSS Unit, KARE has organized a blood donation camp in association with Rajapalayam
Government Hospital on 21 September 2024 at Kalasalingam Medical College Hospital. 85
units of blood were collected this camp. NSS Programme Officers Mrs. V. Anita and Mrs. K.
Nagamuthu and NSS Co-ordinator Mr. T. Raj Pradeesh have made all the arrangements.
NSS and YRC Units, KARE hav organized a blood donation camp in association with Rajapalayam Government Hospital on 26 October 2024 at Kalasalingam Medical College Hospital. 89 units of blood were collected this camp. KARE has been organizing blood donation camps very often and students come forward voluntarily to donate blood. Mr. T. Raj Pradeesh, NSS Co-ordinator and Dr. G. Youth for Sustainable Development: NSS Camp at Kalasalingam Academy of Research
and Education. From December 3-9, 2024, the NSS Unit of Kalasalingam Academy of Research and
Education organized a 7-day camp in Pillayarnatham and Kambathupatti villages,
Srivilliputhur Taluk. With the participation of 120 students, the camp embraced the theme
“Youth for Sustainable Development” and included impactful activities:

The NSS team at Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education (KARE) successfully
organized a blood donation camp at Kalasalingam Medical College and Hospital,
Krishnankoil, in collaboration with Government Hospital, Rajapalayam, on 21st
December 2024 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The main objective of the event was to
encourage voluntary blood donation and raise awareness about its importance.
The camp received an overwhelming response from students, faculty, and local residents,
with 107 blood donors participating. The collaboration between Kalasalingam Medical
College and the Government Hospital ensured smooth coordination, with medical
professionals overseeing the safety of donors and the proper collection of blood.
The event made a significant contribution to the local blood supply, benefiting emergency
medical needs in the region. The success of the camp highlighted the importance of regular
blood donations and the spirit of community service.
The NSS Unit of Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education (Deemed to be
University) organized a programme on Yoga and Meditation for Better Health for faculty
members and students at Manimandapam on 21st December 2024 from 3:30 PM to 4:30
PM, focusing on the FIT INDIA concept. Mr. T. Rajpradeesh, NSS Coordinator, delivered
the welcome address. Dr. A. Samson Nesaraj, Director (Student Affairs), delivered the
inaugural address. Ms. G. Jayanthi, HOD (i/c) of the Yoga Department, and Mr. A.
Saravanan coordinated the yoga sessions.
The NSS Unit of Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education (KARE) organized a
Certificate Distribution Ceremony on March 24, 2025, at the Administrative Block Seminar
Hall for volunteers who participated in the Annual Special Camp held at Pillaiyarnatham and
Kammpathupatti villages, Virudhunagar District, from December 3 to 9, 2024. Over 100
students attended the event, where Dr. A. Samson Nesaraj, Director (Student Affairs),
distributed certificates approved by the State NSS Office, enhancing their future prospects.
The event was coordinated by Mr. T. Rajpradeesh (NSS Coordinator) and Mr. K. Suresh
Kumar (NSS Programme Officer) and aligns with SDG 3 (Good Health & Well-being), SDG
4 (Quality Education), and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities & Communities).
