Academics

Habitat design is a process of conscious design synthesis that comes out from a methodical and holistic understanding of the built environment. The course of action suggests contextual references to be gathered from the cause and effects of nature and its artifacts at all relative scale. It is a multi-disciplinary design approach that integrates a large number of associated realms for a sustainable environment such as Urban Planning, Architecture, Anthropology, Sociology, Ecology, Economics and Politics.

Kalasalingam

  • Designing a habitat involves understanding of the Social and Physical connections between the
human needs and nature. Comprehensive study of planning and design aspects, related to urban
design, housing, landscape, and conservation and related areas and their crossover points are
understood through this systematic learning procedure. Since, this process includes community
involvement and addresses housing issues in both urban and rural areas, it requires knowledge of
transportation systems, ecology, infrastructure planning, and real estate development.
