Reprot on opening ceremony of intel intelligent systems laboratory
Kalasalingam University (KLU) has set up the state of the art INTEL Intelligent Systems Laboratory, in association with INTEL and Foundation for Innovation and Collaborative Education Pvt Ltd (FICE), The Laboratory was opened by Shri. Pradeep Gnanapragasam, Vice President, FICE on Friday, 8/4/2016 at 10.30 am. This was followed by the inaugural function. Dr. D. Devaraj, Dean-Academics & Head/dept. of EEE welcomed the gathering. During his address, he mentioned that, INTEL intelligent system Laboratory is equipped with Intel Galileo board and the necessary peripherals. He also mentioned that the laboratory will train the students on Embedded systems and Internet of Things (IOT). He asked the students to utilize the facilities in the laboratory for their academic project work and to develop innovative solutions for the real world problems. Dr. Sasi Anand, Director Kalasalingam University delivered the presidential address.
He mentioned that setting up this lab is a major milestone in the History of KLU. During his address, he mentioned that students can get opportunities to do projects not only in the INTEL Laboratory here, but also in the FICE office located in Bangalore. He insisted that, by utilizing the new facility, each student should excel in their area of interest and come out with flying colors.
Shri.Pradeep Gnapragasam delivered the inaugural address. He congratulated the university in collaborating with INTEL. He told that this laboratory will enhance the student’s employability and promote entrepreneurship among the students. He also explained the opportunities for the students in the field of Embedded systems and IOT. He also added that Industries relies on young innovative minds, who are source for technological innovations.The felicitation address was given by Dr. S. Saravana Sankar , Vice Chancellor, Kalasalingam University. He appreciated the efforts of the department faculty members in establishing the INEL Laboratory. He insisted the students to develop innovative projects utilizing the new facility He also insisted that access of laboratory by the students of all department should be encouraged. At the end, Dr. a. Ramkumar, Associate Professor, Department of EEE proposed the vote of thanks.
