IRC Professor Swaminathan selected as Fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry, Cambridge, London

Dr.M.Swaminathan FRSC, Emeritus Professor, International Research Centre (IRC), Kalasalingam University had been awarded Fellow of Royal Society of chemistry (FRSC) by Royal Society of chemisty, Cambridge, London,United Kingdom based for his outstanding research contributions in Photochemistry, Photocatalysis, Environmental Remediation, Green chemistry and methanol fuel cells. 

Dr.Swaminathan had developed more than 80 catalysts and investigated their use in environmental remediation, organic synthesis, self cleaning activity, antibacterial activity, water splitting and methanol fuel cells.  He had published more than 195 papers in peer reviewed journals and his papers have more than 4500 citations with h index of 35.

He had also received Tamilnadu Scientist Award in 2008, Best Teacher Award-2008, Chemical Research Society of India medal award in 2012, Life time achievement award in 2015 and he represented INDIA as scientific observer for the International Chemistry Olympiad held at Hanoi, Vietnam in 2014. He had published 2 reviews on photcatalysis and served as Lead Guest editor for three special issues of International Journal of Photoenergy. His name is placed in Who is who in fluorescence-2007. One of his papers is declared as Top cited paper in the journal of molecular catalysis. He is the President of Indian Association of Solid state chemists and Allied scientists, Vice President-Southern Zone of Association of  Chemistry Teachers, Mumbai, Convener, Local Chapter of CRSI, Annamalainagar. He guided 20 students for Ph.D .
